Programming Forum and web based access to our favorite programming groups.Hello folks, One of my clients, an IT Services firm is presently looking for (2) Cobol developers for a 6 month contract position at a major Canadian bank in downtown Toronto, Canada. This contract may be open to extension at the end of the term. One of the banks is doing a major mainframe system switchover and they need to convert from Cobol II to Enterprise Cobol. Presently there are two positions available. Junior/Intermediate Enterprise Cobol Developer - $25-$30hr (I know, its not that good :) ) Cobol Technical Lead - $35-$45/hr Start Date: last wof March Required Experience -Enterprise Cobol -Cobol II -OS390 -DB2, IMS -JCL Enterprise Cobol is a must. I'm an IMS TM bigot, I only get involved in CICS when the CICS developers need advice such as using CALLs instead of EXEC CICS LINK/XCTL, how to get Intertest to work, etc. Are pre-LE compilers still supported, or are there people still running unsupported OS releases which are not tied in with LE to the same extent as current z/OS? We converted to LE in the mid-1990s, taking the better part of 2 years and struggling with 3 different LE versions before we decided it was ready f or prime time. I hope it wouldn't still be that sort of marathon to migrate.
