SciTE file save problem

I am having problems with the SciTE editor for Perl - When I click on
save as and look at the file extension list - the field is blank and I
am not able to save the file with the extension

That's nice, but I doubt that the SciTE people read alt.perl. There is a
mailing list for the program that would probably be more useful:
