Visual Studio 2005 Licensing question
Hi,

We are probably going to upgrade to VS2005 when it comes out - can anyone
tell me... if we get the upgrade from vs2003, can we use both versions?
(Upgrade from Pro to Pro btw.)

Also, we have some new licenses to buy - if we get vs2005 pro licenses (not
upgrade), can we install and use vs2003 for these people too or would be
have to buy vs2003 and upgrade?

Regards,
Mark.

Re: Visual Studio 2005 Licensing question
Generally an upgrade license requires you stop using the upgraded product.
You would need to read the fine print to check for sure.

I've never seen that on any software license,
anywhere (so much for "generally"). I'd presume
you could not sell nor give away the old version
if you bought up at the upgrade price (could if
you bought new, perhaps), but continue to use?
Yes.
