please test PEAR 1.4.0a12 before I release

Hi,

I'm going to be out of town for a w.  In that time, would you all
please test PEAR 1.4.0a12 for a couple of things:

1) unit test failures
2) run "pear channel-update pear" and then try out all remote commands
to make sure they work for your situation
3) whatever else you normally do with pear

If all goes well, I'll release it as the 2nd to last alpha.  a13 will
contain a separation of PEAR_ErrorStack into its own package, and then
beta 1 will be ready after docs are completed.
