I seem to recall some people having trouble with COBOL after doing this and I'd like to know if anybody has any experience in this area? If you have had some problems with NetCOBOL (I'm running version 6) and win XP Pro (SP2) could you please post here? If you don't want to go public, please mail me privately. Thanks for your help, Pete.

It surprise you to know that I have a laptop here with XP SP2 and NetCobol 6. It appears to work OK doing a simple compile, debug and run, but I haven't exercised it fully. The laptop normally boots into Mandrake 10.1 and I have just upgraded this to Mandriva (Mandrake 10.2).

We run XP-SP2 on all our production machines. FJ COBOL 6.1 works without a hitch (compiling and executing). We have 300+ clients running our software on differing versions of Windows (including 2003 Server), also with no problems.

Post Follow-up to this messageI too was runningCOBOL 6.1 with XP Pro without a hitch The only issue (actually concern) I have, and you should be carefull of this, is when your PC / Laptop freezes and you can't do anything about this.. which means you need to approach Fujitsu to send you a new license.. so far they have been great with me to say the least, more so since I purchased a new laptop late last year which proved to be a "lemon" (6 rebuilds so far) Kind rgds TC "Pete Dashwood" <dashwood@enternet.co.nz> wrote in message news:3f4o06F5vnhiU1@individual.net... > Having just set up a couple of notebooks for friends, that use XP (SP2) I > thought I might upgrade my 'old' notebook (the one with COBOL on it) to > this level also. > > I seem to recall some people having trouble with COBOL after doing this > and > I'd like to know if anybody has any experience in this area? > > If you have had some problems with NetCOBOL (I'm running version 6) and > win > XP Pro (SP2) could you please post here? > > If you don't want to go public, please mail me privately. > > Thanks for your help, > > Pete. > > >
