Is COBOL dead? or is it still useful?
Hi guys,

Im a university student, currently doing a research topic on COBOL, I dont k
now much about cobol, and would like to find out if cobol is still being use
d today. and I know that some of the larger companies still running there se
rver in COBOL, thats because they cant afford to rebuild it.

Lets talk about the topic:
"Is COBOL dead? or is it still useful?"

Would anyone consider using COBOL for a new system? why?

If not, when did COBOL faded out of new productions? when and why? what are
the major factors?

Is COBOL doing anything trying to survive? what did they do? did it help?

You may please post any other comments relating to the topic "Is cobol dead?
 or is it still useful"
