Code viewer for '.exe' file

I want to acquire a software tool to view and search a disassembled
executable file.
The debug tool(s) I have used do not allow one to search for particular
instructions, nor do they provide for saving the screen display to a
disk, so that an editor could be used for the search.
Does anyone know what might be available?
