Cannot build Perl Tk on Solaris 5.9

Cannot build Perl Tk on Solaris 5.9
with either gcc or sparc compiler even after repairing lines 516 and
703
in  imgPNG.c per earlier advice on usenet, I get other errors.
Is it possible to get Perl Tk built on current solaris versions without
extenuating efforts?
