Archive_Tar exclude subdirectory

Just wondering if you can exclude specific subdirectories with Archive_Tar.

Like using tar from the command line you would do this:
tar -czvf --exclude=/foo/bar foo.tar.gz /foo

excluding the 'bar' directory from the archive of /foo, i'm interested
to know if this can be done using this PEAR class.
