Kate Syntax file for COBOL?

Does anybody have or know where to find a _COBOL_ _language_ _file
for the editor _Kate_ on Linux/KDE?

It should be too hard to do one.  I had a look at Kate. There is a
facility to download new and updated highlighting files.  If you
download one for, say, Python it will put it in your
~/.kde/share/apps/katepart directory where you can examine it.

Copy it to a file called cobol.xml and start changing this.  You will
find that Kate will start using it automatically so it will show the
results of your changes as you go.
