CPD 2.1 and 2003 Server issue
I have a used that is using our DOS CPD 2.1 application. They just
upgraded their server to Win2003. Now it seems that our app is running
very slowly. All windows apps seem to run just fine.

All our exes are stored on the server, but are run from the
workstations of which some are WinXP and other Win98.

Are there any performance issues with CPD 2.1 amd 2003 Server? Any
ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Re: CPD 2.1 and 2003 Server issue
Just a guess.

You could be having problems because CPD 2.1 is a 16 bit app and 2003
is a 32 bit server, for that matter the
workstations are 32 bit also. You may want to consider a rewrite in
Clarion for Windows.

I had major problems a long time ago when some of my users went from
Novel to NT server.
In your message tell us what kind of server they upgraded from.

Check the work stations and make sure they are only running the network
protocol TCP\IP. If they are running Ipx/Spx (Novell protocol) and
they do not need it remove it. You really only want one network
protocol if possible.

Hope this helps
