Programming Forum and web based access to our favorite programming groups.I'm trying to migrate VB.NET from my PC to the laptop I've just bought. But I can't find the 3rd CD for the MSDN library! As a result, I can't install the Help files. Is there any way around this without violating the EULA? Help!
Post Follow-up to this messageWith any of the quarterly MSDN Libraries that have shipped in the last few years you can do a minimum install without having all 3 discs, but I can't remember if this is the case with the Library that shipped with VS.NET. You could give it a shot (if you haven't already tried this). In this scenario your Help documention does not get installed to your hard drive, so the Library will prompt you to insert some other disc when you click on a topic if its not on the disc that is currently in your CD-ROM drive. Of course you are out of luck if the topic you want happens to be on disc 3. Your other option is if you are an MSDN subscriber you can download the Library from MSDN Subscriptions. http://msdn.microsoft.com/subscriptions/ Darren Parker Developer Division User Education Microsoft "Anonymouse" <Anonymouse@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:2FA85BD6-7650-48FF-948D-01DFBB5C6703@microsoft.com... > I'm trying to migrate VB.NET from my PC to the laptop I've just bought. > But I > can't find the 3rd CD for the MSDN library! Post Follow-up to this messageThanks. I've tried to register with MSDN, but it just seems to hang for ages . Besides. it's no longer necessary; I've just found the damn thing! I thought it had somehow been thrown out the last time I tidied up, although that would've been unusual for me - I sift through whatever I'm throwing out to make sure I don't throw anything out by mistake. That's one less thing to worry about!
