Date&Time Picker ActiveX - License? (MSCOMCT2.SRG)

We are using the Microsoft Date & Time Picker ActiveX (MSCOMCT2).
According to MSDN we can just copy the .ocx to our target client and
our application should work.
However, we had problems until we entered the registry entry held in
the file \windows\system32\MSCOMCT2.SRG (under .../Licenses).

Is this a license?
Can we just export/import it to a different machine (for free?)?

Which article said that? Common Controls 2 is an ActiveX component, which
means that it needs to be registered using Regsvr32. Copying the ocx doesn't
register it.

Open a dos window, browse to System32 and....

Regsvr32 mscomct2.ocx

I've never seen a reference to that file (or any srg file). Google returns
very few references (seems that most are questions asked by you <g> )

Since its name "mscomct2.ocx" is included in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Visual Studio\Redist.txt file, yes, you can distribute it without worrying
about licensing.
