I've been talking to the author of phpm
(http://planet-php.org/search/phpm for more info about what it is and
what it can done and etc.) about bringing in pear support, well maybe
not does what all of you guys have been talking about but it does bring
the API docs to the client computer (the API doc of packages the client
wants that is, it will use similar fetching as the pear installer), but
anyway I'm not going to try to explain what phpm is, so I recommend just
reading (it's very short I assure you guys ;)) what's on the link I gave
about, and I'll bring this subject in few days on the webmaster ML for
further discussion about how it will be done.

Helgi
