Watermark is a pseudo random string why?

I have seen many papers considering the watermark as a pseudo random
string. Why so?? why not any data??

A pseudo-random string is a model for "any data".

In addtion, a pseudo-random string is the most difficult source to
decipher unless it is possible to generate real random information
artificially :<
