Exchange 2003 or Outlook 2000

Hello all ,

I have recently been employed to maintain a network of 50 pc and two servers
.The server are both Windows Server2003 .The PDC is reponsible for
authentication and backups .BDC is running Exchange 6.5 (2003) and has all
user mailboxes and public folders etc on it.

My problem is when I use the basic find utility in Outlook 2000 or Outlook
2002 No results are returned when I say do a search for a contact in my
Public Folder .I have to use the Advanced Find function before an erratic
result is returned (the same search string as above would be used ) .

What could the problem be ?

I suspect it might be the indexes that are damaged but if so why the rratic
results when using the advanced find.

The users also experience delayed email arrival , sometimes users only
receive email a w or two later than it says it was sent .McAfee 7.0
Enterprise is the Anti-Virus package of choice which also seems to have
problems of its own (apparently there is a patch to solve the RPC error that
GroupShield causes ).

Please can someone help me ?
