MSDN update not working

Hello.
i have MSDN July 2004 installed on my PC with .net 1.1 Framework. I
have downloaded the "October 2004 update" of it. the problem is when i
click the setup button it does not install. there is an error message
that "The program to be updated is not installed or u r trying to
update a different verison......and blan blannn "

Please guide me if i have to download the setup in any specific
folder. or what steps should be taken..

The name of the file is : MSDNVSsp1-KB827819-X86-Enu
