Programming Forum and web based access to our favorite programming groups.Hello, Now i see no active mirrors on http://www.php.net/mirrors.php for Portugal. We can supply hosting for PHP project. Please do acknowledge if it interests to you, because we have been refused in the past due to exist two servers (which actually were in the same network). Regards, -- Nuno Vieira - <nuno@nfsi.pt> NFSi - Solucoes Internet, Lda. http://www.nfsi.pt/
Post Follow-up to this messageOlá :) The problem is that there was a recent change in the mirror configuration and the two portuguese mirrors didn't update their settings yet (althought they still work). Let's wait to see if PT.com updates their servers.. BTW I don't agree that both portuguese mirrors are on the same network, but thats not my decision. Nuno P.S.: Obrigado pela vossa oferta!
Post Follow-up to this messageHello, Thanks for your feedback. As i told, we are fully open to host php project, but that is a decision that should be taken by PHP group managing people. Describing NFSi, we are an Hosting and Colocation provider based in Portugal. We have our own network based on AS25137 (1), and also well connected to Internet, having presence in GigaPIX (2) and AMS-IX (3). (1) - Autonomous System 25137 http://www.radb.net/cgi-bin/radb/whois.cgi?obj=AS25137 (2) - Gigabit Portuguese Internet Exchange http://www.fccn.pt/index.php?module... N_position=3:3 (3) - Amsterdam Internet Exchange http://www.ams-ix.net/ I think that is a bad policy for you to have TWO mirrors either in the same AS either in the same Network. It would be much better to have two mirrors in different AS/Networks for a country. Even the worse problem is that since PTM.com (Portugal Telecom aka the incumbent) have a strict peering policy, and you have a lot of Portuguese Users connected thru some ISP's that don't have direct peering with Portugal Telecom, where the traffic goes up to London or Amsterdam and came back. You should choose another mirror for php.pt hosted in a network rich in peering, at least in Portugal. I will not beg anymore for this. If you want a not-so-indecent mirror in .pt, just drop me an email. If you want a not-so-indecent mirror in > .pt, just drop me an email. Since none of the two pt mirrors are up to our latest mirroring guildelines yet, I would suggest you set up a mirror to replace the current (www.)pt.ph.net mirror site. Both pt.php.net and pt2.php.net are disabled since the end of august, and they are not responding nor acting on our notices of their mirrors being disabled, so it seems they don't care anymore. Please provide the required info for the mirror registration once you have completed the setup. Regards, Gabor Hojtsy
Post Follow-up to this messageHowdy, Here goes the requested data. Mirror is up and running. Please check and acknowledge. Your country. PT The xx.php.net address you used to set up the mirror site, which you obtained previously in a conversation with the mirror admins. pt.php.net Your name and email address to be registered as the admin of the mirror. "Nuno Vieira" <nuno.vieira@nfsi.pt> A hostname that we can use as a CNAME for the country-code-based name of the mirror (the.cname.you.set.up.example.com in the above setup example). Using a name means you can move the mirror to another IP address without coordinating with us at all. php.nfsi.pt Whether or not you've installed local stats support on your mirror. no. The name of the hosting company. NFSi - Soluções Internet, Lda. The URL of the hosting company. This link is provided with the company's name at the bottom of pages, with the sponsor image on the frontpage and in the mirror listing. http://www.nfsi.pt/ Best Regards, On Sun, 2004-11-21 at 12:21, Gabor Hojtsy wrote: > Hi Nuno Vieria, > > > Since none of the two pt mirrors are up to our latest mirroring > guildelines yet, I would suggest you set up a mirror to replace the > current (www.)pt.ph.net mirror site. Post Follow-up to this messageHi Nuno, > Here goes the requested data. > Mirror is up and running. > Please check and acknowledge. OK, I have added your mirror site as (www.)pl.php.net, and it will show up in our mirror list on the next hour, if all goes well. I have checked that your mirror has proper settings, and that your IP belongs to Portugal, so everything will probably be fine. Welcome on board, Gabor Hojtsy
