Technical Specialist (Technical Analyst) Permanent

Our client is looking for an experienced Technical Specialist to assist
in the selection and
implementation of a large scale application for P&C Claims Management.

-	Take the project lead for the technical assessment of large scale
vendor application solutions
-	Work with their architecture group to define and implement criteria
to assess and measure
vendor solutions technically and architecturally
-	Develop non-functional requirements and assist in capture of functional
requirements
of required systems
-	Analyze and define applications integration options
-	Take a leading role in the design and development activities in the
significant integration
work required working closely with the selector vendor.

You will bring your advanced knowledge of multi-tier services oriented
systems in proposing component
based solutions for integration problems.  You will ensure consistency
with the clients overall company
Enterprise Architecture.

Experience in large Insurance ERM/CRM style product evaluation and
implementation work is preferred.

Experience in a wide range of technologies is needed.  Java/J2EE architectur
e,
OO Analysis
and Design methods experience is required and you will be conversant
with Websphere and
database systems.  You will also ideally have some knowledge of legacy
mainframe systems.
Having used the Rational Unified Process and Rational Rose in previous
development projects,
you will take a leading role in the production of artifacts through
the clients tailored methodology.

Required Skills:

-	Minimum - four years experience performing similar application/technical
or architect role.
-	Excellent analytical problem solving and decision making skills
-	Good communication skills (oral and written)
-	Experience of Java/J2EE and Java architecture
-	Familiarity with legacy mainframe systems
-	Complete lifecycle development experience of component based solutions

using OOA and OOO
-	Knowledge and experience in using the Rational Unified Process and
UML is preferred
-	Knowledge and experience in development s using Websphere
-	Good understanding of database systems
-	Previous team leadership experience would be an asset
-	The ability to plan and organize effectively
-	Knowledge of the Property and Casualty Insurance industry (and particularl
y
claims
processing is desired)
