Project Manager - Backend Web Development Contract

Job Location: Work from home, virtual office environment

Requirements (Skills and Experience):

NOTE: Previous Project Management experience in backend web development
is a
MUST; DO NOT APPLY unless you have it.

·  Strong practical knowledge of the application of both PHP and MySQL
solutions for the purposes
of scripting and database use within the context of web development
projects.
·  An established portfolio of projects (personal or public) that clearly
demonstrate your skills in the
above area.
·  Knowledge of ASP/SQL, ColdFusion, Access databases, JAVA, javascript,
HTML and web page
design considered nice to haves.
·  Available for at least 10 hours/wk.
·  Dedicated access to a home office environment and private phone
line (landline or mobile)

Responsibilities

At Advoca the Project Manager is the driving force behind every successful
project. Our PM's review
sales quotes, close deals, hire contract staff, set deadlines, review
and deliver completed work into
client hands and act as the sole contact between the client and Advoca.
The position mixes the need
for strong organizational, communications and creative skills with
a broad based knowledge of Internet
trends and technologies.
As a freelance Project Manager you will first spend up to two ws
reviewing the  Interactive
Project Management Manual, getting up to speed on our proprietary process.
This time is unpaid and at
your own pace.
Once our client feels you are ready, they  will assign one or two projects
to you, and a
Senior Project Manager to assist you in times of trial and tribulation.
If things go well, it is not unusual
for a new freelance PM to be managing up to 8 projects simultaneously
within 4-6 ws.
Where appropriate, PM's can increase their working hours with  by performing
specialist work, i
ncluding graphic design, web development, copy writing, search engine
optimization, html coding,
PHP/ASP scripting, database design and branding.
