One year was Y2K remediation, the other was insurance processing. During the intervening 14 years, there were advances in hardware technology but little change in software where I worked. IBM has done great things in the last ten years. They weren't in evidence in the legacy shops I saw, which operated as though nothing had changed in 20 years. RW is not a legit Cobol subject .. unless I've been elected to some Cobol Hall of Fame.
