Senior Business Systems Analyst Permanent

As a Senior Business Systems Analyst we need  you to take a leading
role in the analysis of existing
business  process and systems and in the identifation of process issues
and improvements.
You will be responsible for capturing requirements and completing formal
business analysis and design
for large projects in our business intelligence and reporting department.
You will also be responsible for
managing analysis and design artifacts throughout the project life
cycle and ensuring the quality
assurance of the delivered product to requirement specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Investigates and analyses problems and business requirements, including
impact analysis of change on
all systems and business areas, for projects up to high complexity
in order to recommend appropriate
solutions.
-Determines scope and prepares detailed requirements documents for
tasks and projects up to high
complexity to ensure scope and business requirements are understood
and acceptable
to all impacted areas.
-Works with programmer analysts to design solutions to meet business
requirements.
-Tests delivered systems solutions and monitors systems after implementation
to ensure they satisfy requirements.
-Provides direction to internal and external users and assists in the
effective and
efficient resolution of issues.
-Identifies opportunities for application Services to ensure high quality
in all deliverables and
continuous improvement in application development.
-Provides mentoring to support analysts and business analysts in order
to help them progress
in their professional development and optimize performance.
REQUIREMENTS:
-Must have:
-Minimum of five years progressive experience in Information Services.
-Minimum of four years experience performing structured business analysis
on medium to large projects
-Experience in data warehouse or corporate reporting projects
-Excellent analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision
making skills
-Demonstrated ability in analysis techniques such as JAD interviewing,
use - cases
-Demonstrated ability in testing  and documentation techniques.
-The ability to plan and organize effectively
-Excellent oral and written communications skills
-A flexible and adaptable team player that is service oriented
-Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) strongly preferred
-Experience in the insurance industry, particularly property and casualty
insurance
-Experience with Cognos Impromptu and Powerplay or equivalent Business
Intelligence tools, preferred
-Demonstrated ability in user interface requirements and design
-Knowledge of the Rational Unified Process and experience at using
UML artifacts
EDUCATION:
-Minimum - two year college diploma in businesses/computer related
field or equivalent experience
