Programming Forum and web based access to our favorite programming groups.Hi, Does anyone have info on web hosts that let you run your own Java chat server on the host machine? I am volunteering for a mentor program for kids that has a website, chumz.net hosted on Yahoo. I found a free Java chat server and client program called Babylon (http://visopsys.org/andy/babylon/) that enables users to send text as well as share a paint canvas. This is really nice and I would like to use this if possible. Only problem is I can't find web hosts that let you run such a chat server. Of course, I also want administrative controls like starting/stopping and moderating the chat, etc. Since it is a volunteer org, this can't be too expensive -- right now we pay about $20 per month for Yahoo's standard package. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Lakshmi Natarajan Ps. This is cross-posted because I couldn't find a special group for this subject.
