Unable to install SQL 2000 Developer Edition on Windows XP Professional

Error reported when trying to install SQL 2000 Developer Edition - "Internal
error. Contact Microsoft Technical Support".

o New install of Windows XP
o Windows XP SP2
o Office 2003 with SP1

Error occurs after clicking on the install hyperlink and before any other
messages are displayed.

Any ideas?
