On Windows it is GUI, on Linux it is textmode GUI and works identically. It has the advantage over a graphics in that it can run remotely over telnet/ssh rather than needing remote X windows while still having the features of GUI.

If you have Micro Focus for Linux, you must have Application Server or Enterprise Server, both of which come with a CGI tool. You could use that to talk to a Web browser running on the same box. The easiest solution is Flexus sp2, but it doesn't run on unix.

Notice that only the client must run on Windows (and Windows XP would be one of those Windows supported). Liant does *not* have a product targeting a strictly Linux GUI (gnome, kde, etc.).

We use since 2 years the combination Tcl/Tk for GUI and MF-Cobol on server. Tcl/Tk runs on Linux, most Unixes, Windows and Mac. -- Vaclav Snajdr
