Had a small test app that runs well in Fortress env under stand-alone win 98se; under xp, the client app generates error 10003, which the docs indicate as not able to find the IPX layer. I tried to configure the NIC with loopback address 127.0.0.1 and installed the NWLink, IPX/SPX protocol, but since no cable attached to the RJ45 port, the task bar shows an icon LAN not ready, no cable connected. The fortress server starts normally, so i guess IPX is installed and running well; could 10003 be related to the fact the no cable is connected to the NIC? any suggestion most welcome thank you frank
Post Follow-up to this messageFrank, this is simple: Just install the Microsoft Loopback adapter - it can be found as a NIC in the Network devices that come with xp. Bind the ipx protocol to it ... and voilla .. here we go. This also works with ADS on a single pc like a laptop ;-) Markus Am Tue, 15 Jun 2004 17:22:56 -0700 hat frank van nuffel <clipper-y2d@versateladsl.be> geschrieben: > Hello friends, > > Has anyone used Fortress under win XP on a stand-alone > pc?
