Re: Basic Info
Janardhan,

I found Brent B. Welch's (& others) "Practical Programming in Tcl and Tk"
(now in 4th edition) to be extremely useful, both in terms of the
explanation of basic language issues and the examples of how the language
and various extensions to it can be used to provide practical solutions to
real-world needs.

Also, though not a book, the Tcl'ers Wiki http://wiki.tcl.tk/ contains an
incredible amount of helpful code and hints, etc. Of course, this newsgroup
is also a very valuable resource (but I'd say that wouldn't I, having posted
here) :-b

I guess that w.r.t. Tcl/Tk I'm at the *very* dangerous stage - lots of
theory (and ideas), but not a lot of 'industrial' experience! ;-b

Looks like we share first names too!

Rob.

And to think that I used to tell female friends that I wasn't Tcl'ish!

Mine came last w - I'm not as dangerous as you since I've
been fiddling with Tcl a bit longer... <wink>

Another vote for Brent B. Welch's (& others) "Practical Programming in
Tcl and Tk" I would select that over any other printed Tcl reference.

And for dire emergencies the pages are much thinner in the 4th edition.
