Quines - first(?)ones in Cobol & PL/I
A while ago I posted a message to the mvshelp boards, see
<http://www.greenhousecafe.com/cgi-b...=003
181>
on this subject, noting that Gary Thompson's Quine page
<http://www.nyx.net/~gthompso/quine.htm> doesn't have quines in either
Cobol or PL/I. A bit later I added my own smallest(?) possible PL/I
quine, which was developed after an original Pascal one. Then
yesterday a Peter Brown added another first, a quine in Cobol! It's in
the same URL. Look and enjoy (and FWIW, see if you can reduce its
size)

The above "greenhousecafe" link works for me! You might want to
try <http://www.mvshelp.com/> and click on the "Help Boards"
link on the left. The quine is in the "Programming Languages"
forum. FWIW, there is now a second Cobol Quine. which is quite
a bit shorter than the first one!

HTH,
