Pete, I've never lived in Florida, but I have travelled there a lot. I live
in
Alabama, which borders NW Florida, and it's a quick wend hop to
NE Florida from here. Except for the Keys, and the lower SW part of
the state, I've been just about all over Florida many times.

Beaches: As far as the beaches themselves, Florida, especially the Gulf
Coast, has beaches that make any California beach look like trash, and
I've seen both. They are very white, very fine sand. The beaches in the
video looked more grayish.

Manmade tourist attractions: Florida has manmade tourist attractions that
rank among the very best. Disney World, Universal Studios, and gobs
more, particularly around Orlando, but all over the state. I've spent time
in Southern California too, and it's possible they may edge Florida just a
bit, but it would very close. The video didn't show a lot about this, so I
can't really compare.

Other natural scenery: In this, there is no competition: NZ blows Florida
away. Florida is flat, sandy, mostly pine trees and palmetto bushes. The
scenery, other than the stunningly beautiful beaches, is boooorrriiinnngg!
There are no mountains in Florida, and only a few small hills (the highest
point in Florida is Britton Hill at 345 ft.). They do have some natural
wonders, like Silver Springs and some deep underwater caves, but
nothing like the stunning scenery in NZ.
