Scripts which report on application crashes
Hi

Does anyone know where would I find pre-written scripts which collect
information about the state of a server - I am particularly trying to
find scripts which will report on application errors/crashs ande the
state of the server before and after the application crash?

Thanks for any help

Richard

Why don't you just check the error logs?

Because I want to receive reports from many machines...

Okay, let me rephrase: why are you asking this in a Perl newsgroup? You
never said what server you're using (which is a wee bit important), but if
you had I would have recommended you ask this question in a newsgroup that
deals with whatever server that happens to be. Seems kind of logical that
other people using the server might have a better idea about where you might
find these scripts you're looking for.

Looks like you want to do something with SNMP. There's
a Usenet group about that: comp.protocols.snmp,
and there are several modules available on CPAN:
http://search.cpan.org/search?query=snmp

Yes that looks spot on. Thanks. I will read and learn.
