Using together excellent xHarbour/Harbour compilers and Mediator finally moves your xBase applications into 21st century. If you are interested in migration of your DBF-based Clipper/xHarbour/Harbour applications to Oracle, MS SQL, IBM DB2, Sybase ASA, MySQL or PostgreSQL database, please visit us at http://www.otc.pl or read the following info. Enjoy your application working on SQL database! General information ------------------- OTC Mediator is an RDD driver for Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere, MySQL and PostgreSQL databases. Mediator was designed to allow quick migration of DBF data and XBase applications to one of the mentioned databases. It implements all RDD features required for easy migration including RECNO record numbers, DELETED flag, Clipper-compatible record and file locks as well as complex expression indexes. Basically, Mediator package consists of three parts: - libraries implementing RDD interface to be linked into CA-Clipper/xHarbour or Harbour application - Mediator server translating application requests into SQL commands sent to database - set of utilities facilitating data (DBF) and index (NTX,CDX) migration to RDBMS Where/when to use Mediator? --------------------------- 1. You are the user and/or producer of CA-Clipper, xHarbour or Harbour applications. 2. You find that the application is functionally good but technically unacceptable due to any of the following reasons: - DBFs corruptions resulting in data loss and system downtime - indexes corruptions resulting in reindexing and system downtime - low scalability and efficiency - inability of integration with the new (SQL-based) applications - usage of the old, inefficient and insecure file-sharing architecture - problems when using really large (multigigabytes) tables - inability to run application over WAN network - ... 3. As an application user, you cannot afford the risk and/or budget of buying and implementing in your company the completely new application. 4. As an application producer you cannot afford the risk/time/budget of rewriting the complete application using new (SQL-based) tools. Mediator offers you the tested and easy way of migrating your data to SQL database while preserving your application. Mediator is being used in several thousands of installations in many countries all over the world. The installations range from single workstations to 6000 workstations installed in single company. Don't waste your time and money - Mediator was designed for you!
