any way of generating certificates using just JDK?

any way of generating certificates using just JDK?
I took a look at the JDK 1.4.2 and the new beta of 1.5.

There doesn't seem to be any way of creating certificates using just the
JDK. It only has treatment methods (get methods).

Would this apply to pkcs #7, #10 as well? that is, only reading is
posible using JDK?

Could anyone confirm?
