Further to my post in response to this posting I should add that
putting up the sign and a fence to prevent people from getting to the
ice also will not protect you from legal claims if the fence is poorly
maintained (or the dog in the other example is not properly muzzled)
or not tall enough to prevent easy access. My father successfully sued
on the improper maintenance case when I was blinded in my right eye as
a kid.
