Thane, can you provide a URL?

I checked here:
http://www.microfocus.com/products/NetExpress/index.asp

But I can't find any way to download NetExpress 5.0 Personal edition.

This is the best offer you could get from Microfocus... I will check
this out for sure.

Thanks for sharing the information. Due to the numerous pages of
Microfocus has on their site, this is a solid gift for programmers out
there who really wanted to learn Microfocus product strength... and of
course COBOL in general.

Did everyone see the footnote that says,

"*The compiler creates an executable file from up to 2200 lines of COBOL sou

That just enforces modularity... ;)

When you carefully read the readme file, you read:

"You are limited to 2200 lines of procedural code in each source file"

I think, that this means a "Procedure division" of up to 2200 lines, all
other divisions are not "procedural code". Am I right ?

Gee, I'm really queueing up to get a 185MB download of a crippled compiler
for an obsolete language that requires me to pay run time fees for anything
I write in it...

Is it me?...

Pete.
