Programming Forum and web based access to our favorite programming groups. This isn't Cobol related but if anyone knows this, I'm betting the fine folks in this newsgroup do. I'm doing a project for a client in Puerto Rico. They are a VSE shop. Really had to shake up the brain cells to pull that skill back out! Anyway, they use Westinghouse Disk Utility System to do backups and restores. Since I primarily work off site I don't have access to any doc. Anyone know (and I've tried Google with no luck) of a web site that might have the doc for this utility? Thanks. //// (o o) -oOO--(_)--OOo- "If it weren't for pickpockets I'd have no sex life at all." --Rodney Dangerfield ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Remove nospam to email me. Steve

I'll look into it. It says it replaces WESTI/DUSP which is the utility I'm looking for documentation on. However, it's paramter cards may be close enough for me to make use of. >Dr. D is a fast and flexible disk utility system that provides >the fastest save >(backup) and restore functions currently available. >Dr. D helps you perform the following tasks: >· >Implementing disaster recovery using a standalone VSE or Virtual >Machine (VM) restore >· >Compacting disks >· >Saving and reorganizing libraries >· >Converting files and libraries to different disk types >· >Saving and reorganizing VSAM/ISAM/PSAM >· >Creating test files >· >Performing VSAM listcat, file definition, file delete, and verify >· >Copying and testing tapes >· >Reorganizing/defragmenting disk manager pools >· >Saving and restoring disk manager pools >· >Performing an individual and pool list VTOC >Regards > >Michael >SkippyPB wrote: Regards, //// (o o) -oOO--(_)--OOo- "If it weren't for pickpockets I'd have no sex life at all." --Rodney Dangerfield ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Remove nospam to email me. Post Follow-up to this messageAccording to my sources on vse-l this product is now Maxback/VSE by Software Diversified Services. Here's a link: http://www.sdsusa.com/maxbkVSE.htm Frank n 3/19/2007 at 8:16 AM, in message <ph6tv29kqo15r5h9fe3rrmblpr5chnutjd@4ax.com>, SkippyPB<swiegand@Nospam.neo.rr.com> wrote: > This isn't Cobol related but if anyone knows this, I'm betting the > fine folks in this newsgroup do. > > I'm doing a project for a client in Puerto Rico. That could be the right product, but they have no user guide or any doc for that matter on that site. >n 3/19/2007 at 8:16 AM, in message ><ph6tv29kqo15r5h9fe3rrmblpr5chnutjd@4ax.com>, >SkippyPB<swiegand@Nospam.neo.rr.com> wrote: Regards, //// (o o) -oOO--(_)--OOo- "If it weren't for pickpockets I'd have no sex life at all." --Rodney Dangerfield ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Remove nospam to email me. They bought the product way back somewhere around 1995 or so, I think. Prior to that, since 1990, DUSP was probably owned by Blueline Software. Doug
