POE::wheel::run and win32

Hello,
I am a newbie to POE. I want to know the difference between using
POE:wheel::run on win32 vs using POE::wheel::run::win32. I am currently
using POE::wheel::run on a win32 system to start a new .NET process, but I
the perl process dies after the .net console app exits. Are there any
alternatives to POE::wheel::run. I looked at POE::Wheel::run::win32, but
could not understand the difference with POE::wheel::run from the
documentation. I've seen a thread on similar issue, but did not find any
conclusion on what the solution is.
