Author Ubuntu/debian package

Hello

I did a ubuntu/debian package of eaccelerator 0.9.5

it was accepted in ubuntu (feisty), but rejected from debian for the
following reason:

"I have just rejected your eaccelerator upload. It uses the GPL licence,
but links against PHP (and thereby Zend). The Zend licence and the GPL
are unfortunately not compatible due to the advertisement clause in the
Zend licence. I believe you can work around this by getting upstream to
add an exception allowing you to link with Zend licenced under the Zend
licence."

Is there something that the eaccelerator developpers could do to fix
this issue?

regards,

This is where the word "ANAL" has vast meaning, distributing it as a =

separate package should not be an issue, according to the license =

it's only a problem if it's distributed with PHP/Zend.

Do you have an e-mail address for the original author?

From the previous posts it's clear he doesn't own it but was
employed to write it thus he is not the original author/owner (he's
nothing more than a meager employee) and doesn't have the ability to
make any decisions regarding licensing and ownership.

I'm not interested in wasting time playing find him, if someone has
the e-mail address I'll work on changing ownership and licensing if
no one has any objections.

Bart, yes I read it and I'm not interested in the shortcomings of any
previous exchanges.

Why is it so difficult for you to provide his contact information,
you have it, I don't and I'd like to obtain it, I was clear in my
intentions and I'm not doing anything underhanded.

You have a phone number please pass it along to me with any other
contact information you have for him.

I'm only interested in the possibility of future endeavors for the
good of this project.

Yes it would be nice to sort this issue out.

For people interested in the package, the source package is available here:
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/po...e/eaccelerator/

i can provide either binary and documentation to generate binaries from =

source package if anyone is interested
