Hi list, new here and not sure what the status of the project is
but want to help.

I have programming experience: (I wrote a couple of php modules and
some perl/php scripts, nothing to write home about)

apache-1.3.33
http://daleenterprise.com/info.php
http://daleenterprise.com/info.php#module_eAccelerator
http://daleenterprise.com/clamav_info.php
http://daleenterprise.com/rrdtool_info.php
http://daleenterprise.com/amavis-stats

lighttpd-1.4.10
http://daleenterprise.com:88/info.php
http://daleenterprise.com:88/info.p...le_eAccelerator
http://daleenterprise.com:88/clamav_info.php
http://daleenterprise.com:88/rrdtool_info.php
http://daleenterprise.com:88/amavis-stats

I have been working with the codebase 0.9.5 (on Mac OSX), the svn282
didn't work properly (I know not very descriptive), it had issues
with strange behavior when you set "eaccelerator.shm = 0".

When set to 0, an app like MAIA (MAIA MailGuard) wasn't visibly
displaying the pages yet no errors/warnings were being reported or
displayed.

I also have to admit that because I needed an optimzer/cache system I
didn't spend a lot of time going over the code to see what the issue was

I've modified the 0.9.5 source slightly adding a
"eaccelerator.disambler" config setting and a "disassembler_enabled"
function.

I got the logo displaying in the php_info output (dynamic in case
expose_php is turned off).

I also modified the control.php (combined with disasm.php) and
renamed to eaccelerator.php (used some of the svn php code), check
that disassembler_enabled is on before processing any code, this
prevents anyone from using the code outside of the script.

I build the extensions as a universal binary (so it will run on
PowerPC or Intel machines running OSX 10.4.x) with PHP 4.4.x to 5.2.x
installed (all tested and working) and I'll be posting an installer/
archive of the binaries when I can get my shit together.

Here is a development machine you can examine/test the installation,
this is a generic Intel machine running OSX 10.4.8 using
lighttpd-1.4.10 and php-5.1.6 in CGI/FastCGI (also tested with apache
1.3.33 and 2.2.1).

You can see some info at:
http://amavis-stats.com/info.php
http://amavis-stats.com/cgi-bin/env.cgi
http://amavis-stats.com/cgi-bin/configtest.pl
http://amavis-stats.com/maia/admin/configtest.php (mysql not running)

You can see the management interface at: (user/pwd admin/admin)
http://amavis-stats.com/eaccelerator.php (some management controls
disabled except for the "Disassembler enabled" button so you can see
it's results).

Anyway, let me know.

Do you mean eaccelerator.shm_max = "0" ?
Please note, that you must quote the 0.

I'm sorry, my mistake.
eaccelerator.shm_only = "0"

Yes and from looking at the source I see it wouldn't be hard to
change that to be STD_PHP_INI_BOOLEAN() for easier manipulation
rather than STD_PHP_INI_ENTRY() because the values can only be 0/1,
true/false, yes/no, on/off and still provide the same results with
minimal code changes.
