We are sing an experienced QA Test Automation Team Lead to be based
in our Los Angeles office.

The purpose of this position is to provide leadership, direction, and
expertise to a medium sized test team responsible for certifying the
level of quality of new and existing applications from an automated
functional and performance testing perspective. As a part of the QA
management team, work with a variety of groups across multiple
disciplines to improve, streamline, integrate, and communicate the
build, test, qualification, and deployment/release cycles for a large
legal billing and accounting product.

The primary responsibilities of this position are the following:
- Lead a team of Automated Test Engineers to ensure
successful automated functional and performance/stress/load testing
across new and existing applications.
- Assist management team in making solid "go/no-go" decisions for the
launch of each application. Provide management team with performance
metrics and corresponding analysis to substantiate each decision.
- Lead the design and implementation effort for a flexible automation
framework.
- Assist automated testers in the development of all testing-related
documentation, including test plans, test cases/scripts, and reports.
- Help design and create test scripts, test harnesses, programs, and/or
drivers to run automated functional and performance tests.
- Remove obstacles to help automated testers achieve testing milestones
according to project schedules.
- Schedule automation testing resources to provide adequate testing
coverage to all projects.
- Manage and publish test execution schedule.
- Interface with the appropriate teams to ensure test automation
environment availability.

Qualifications
4+ Years of extensive technical depth in Rational automated test tools
(XDE or Functional Tester) or equivalent depth in similar tools with a
desire to learn Functional Tester.
4+ Years of strong coding skills (Java or Java script preferred but not
required).
3+ Years of extensive experience in stress / load testing. Segue Silk
Performer is preferred but will consider experience with other similar
tools. Knowledge of how to work with development to debug performance
problems.
2+ Years of experience designing and implementing a test automation
framework supporting flexible data input, unattended running, error
recovery, and automated checking of results.

- Computer Science or BS/BA Degree or additional years of experience
- Must be highly technical and hands on while providing solid
leadership to reports.

- Knowledge of the software test process and experience writing test
plans and test cases.
- Strong QA methodology, process, and technical leadership.
- Experience in testing multi-tier web-based applications.
- Self-motivated leader, and doer.
- Goal-oriented and project-driven.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Agile and comfortable with ambiguity
- Excellent oral and written communicator who can help bridge the gap
between application testers and automation testers.
- Able to manage, build, and develop a staff in an ever changing
environment.
- Cool under pressure.
- Cares about the quality of the customer experience and willing to
stand up for it!

If I insist that the programmers write unit tests for every line of code
they write, will the managers back me up?
