How a software company attains Software CMM level 5?
What are the sw processes needs to be followed to attain this level.
A company is at level 2,it can attain level 4 directly by fulfilling
the criteria of level 3 and 4?

Hello sandy ,

There 3 KPA (Key process Area ) for CMM level 5 (Optimization )

1- PCM (Process Control management)
2- TCM (Technology change management )
3- DP(Defect Prevention )

in this level Co, have to optimize to process.

Yes If a co. do'nt have any level, they can achive CMM level 5.

A company is at level 2,it can attain level 4 directly by fulfilling
the criteria of level 3 and 4.

thanks n regards

naveen

Has anyone hit Level 5 without fulltime testing? without automated tests?
without developer tests?

(Note that, once Level 5 is achieved, a shop is _required_ to try those
things, as part of the "experiment with process improvements" KPA...)

Those KPAs are for inter-team management. They impose the ideal that teams
learn from each other.
