Author Bug/Defect Tracking Tool - Any recommendations

Hi everyone,

Can you help me please? I'm looking around for a good, free
open-source(?) defect/bug tracking application for about 20 developers.
It should have the following characterittics:

1. Ability to log bugs, assign severity etc...sytem assigns unique
number to new bugs
2. Insert screen shots, error files
3. Ability to alter state of bugs - open, fixed, closed...
4. Configurable - new fields and drop-downs can be added
5. Automatic emailing of notifications (this would be nice)
6. Ability to segregate into differing projects/areas
7. Web enabled would be nice i.e. can log a bug from an internet cafe!
8. Free
9. Pasword protected

We have a windows environment here. Anyone with any
ideas/comments/suggestions that they would like to share? I would
greatly appreciate any good experiences...

Thank in advance,
Al.

We've had success with Mantis. Smaller team than you but it's worked
well and we can access it remotely via our extranet which is really useful.

You can try Bugzilla also. Very powerful tool! But here is one trouble
with your windows environment - bugzilla server can be deployed on
linux systems only.

Also u can try your hands on BUgtracker.

Currently i am using

And we also have Windows environment as well.

And it is entirely IE based.
Thanks
