Author Warning during mex compilation

When I attempt to compile using mex.bat I constantly get:
WARNING: Your MATLAB environment variable is set to
C:\Program Files\MATLAB71
This does not match with the MATLAB path,
C:\PROGRA~1\MATLAB71
from where the MEX script is being run.
Your MATLAB path for MEX is assumed to be
C:\Program Files\MATLAB71
If this is not the correct path, please modify the
MATLAB environment variable before running the MEX
script (or before starting MATLAB if you are running the
MEX script from within MATLAB.)

I know that this is simply a warning and doesn't effect
anything 8.3 vs. Long file names. But is there a way of
fixing this MATLAB enviroment variable or disabling this
specific warning. Thanks in advance.
