fdesign object crashes MCC

Has anyone tried to use something like fdesign.bandpass() in compiled
code? I am trying to put together a .NET component that designs a
simple bandpass with the fdesign object. However, MCC crashes
consistently when calling fdesign.bandpass(). When I remove this
call, MCC no longer crashes (but the application doesn't work
obviously)...

Any help circumventing this problem would be greatly appreciated!
