Matlab Version SV14 Crash After MEX

| Dear User Community
I have been running Matlab 7.0.1.15 (R14) Service Pack 1 for many
months (possibly over a year - I loose track) on a Windows XP
machine. Everything has been fine and I have been happily writing and
running MEX files - until earlier this w .
Here's what I did:
1. I edit the C source code for a MEX file in the Matlab editor.
2. I save the file and then type "mex filename.c" on the Matlab
command window.
3. The file is compiled and the dll file is generated without errors
or warnings.
4. I test the mex file from the command window by typing
"B=filename(A);".
5. I type "B" and verify that the output data is correct.
6. I go back to the Matlab editor by clicking on the windows task bar
icon, and suddenly Matlab and the editor shut down. There is no
warning, they just disappear.
I did the usual sort of checks that one might be expected to do. I
looked at the Task Manager and MATLAB is no longer in the list of
processes. Then I restart Matlab and go through steps 1 to 6 above,
with the same result. I reboot my PC, start up Matlab again and go
through the steps 1 to 6 above, with the same result.
Then I thought perhaps my Matlab installation had become corrupted,
so I uninstalled and re-installed Matlab, but I get exactly the same
behaviour as before.
I would welcome any advice or suggestions from the user community as
to how to fix this rather annoying problem.
Regards
Dominique
