Matlab - Animated object moves off-screen when zoomed in

Animated object moves off-screen when zoomed in

I am animating a deflection shape. When I load it and animate straight
after loading (without zooming-in or rotating etc) the animation plays
where the object was first loaded. However when I zoom-in to it and
then animate, the animation plays in a different location. Most of the
time only part of the object is visible, and in some cases it is
completely off-screen. Any ideas how this can be cured?
