Author problems with signal processing

Hi everybody, I need your help to solve 2 problems with my filtering
noise from a .wav audio file.

1) I need the valutation of the expectation E[ | D(k)|^2] (to have an
idea of my SNR) where D is the part of my input signal with only
noise (no speech region). Any ideas to find this value or at least
its estimate? As I can see, Matlab does not have a command to do the
expectation operation....

2) When i do the ifft of the proccessed signal and after the
overlap-add process, I can notice the presence of a lot of clicks
(wrong samples with high amplitude which cause distortion). How can I
reduce their bad effects on my filtered signal?
