Calculate the length of a MIDI file

My app opens a midi file using the MCI api. how to retrieve the length of
the MIDI in seconds? The MCI_STATUS_LENGTH status command returns a number,
but how to convert it to seconds?

I don't know if you've posted elsewhere, but this is probably not the best
newsgroup to ask. There doesn't seem to be a particularly good newsgroup for
this type of question, but perhaps someone in
microsoft.public.platformsdk.multimedia could at least point you in the
right direction.
