| All of the computers on my network at work are having trouble connecting to
certain sites. One of the computers on the network cannot load the search
page after entering the appropriate data and executing the search on
travelocity.com. All of the other computers on the network can access the
search-execution page from travelocity. This same computer also has trouble
running the express application on the Windows Update website. I have run
spyware software on the machine as well as scan through the registry using
HijackThis and browsed regedit to the HKEY....Run, RunOnce, etc. and did not
come up with anything.
I am running Norton 2006 on all of the machines and they are up to date. I
can run Norton update on all of the computers on the network successfully.
All of the computers are having trouble accessing www.enginesys.com I get
the "This Page Cannot Be Displayed" page. I have installed new Java which
did not work suspecting that there could be a problem with Java. I also
checked out the host file under etc and did not find anything. I have made
sure that windows firewall is disabled on all of the machines. I have
adjusted the ActiveX and security settings leaving my computer vulnerable and
still cannot access the enginesys site. I have tried loading into windows
safe mode with networking and still could not access the enginesys page. I
have run the winsock fix which usually has fixed this sort of problem in the
past however, the problems in the past have not allowed me to browse such a
wide variety of websites.
I have not run across another site other than enginesys.com that the
computers on the network cannot view (other than the computer that cannot
even run windows update). I can view this website at other locations such as
at home.
I noticed this problem occur around 04/20/06.
My company uses the Linksys BEFSX41 router and all of its settings seem okay.
