Could not start WWW Publishing Service

| Error 1053
Could someone please help. Why does this service get stuck in Starting mode.
I have had MySQL, PHP and apache installed but have since uninstalled them -
could that have caused this - how do I fix.
Ultimately found this problem when using Dreamweaver to start a new site and
got and error there - which lead me to the IIS service problem.
Thanks,
Katherine

| Hi Katherine,
First, you should know that this newsgroup is not an IIS newsgroup. It's a
newsgroup for problems related to XML/SOAP Web Services.
However, I will try to help in any case. Next time you'll get a better
response by asking in the right group!
Installing the apache web server probably did it. A web server handles HTTP
requests coming in on Port 80 (usually, by default). When you installed
Apache, it probably highjacked Port 80 from IIS. You might try re-installing
IIS to fix the problem.
