Can Crystal 8.5 and 10.0 exist on the same development machine
(continuting to maintain and create reports in both versions)? Just
opening the 8.5 reports in 10.0 and upgrading is not an option. Either
way, are there are any references, papers, articles that address the
implications?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have not experienced any problems while running Crysta 8.5 and 9.x at the
same time on my development machine.

I am running 8.5 and 10 without any problems. As i installed 10 most recently this is now the default app for opening .rpt files.

You may want to setup links to both crystal 10 and 8.5 on your right click send to option. It will make life easier opening reports in the correct version of crystal.
